Recently our hometown comic shop, Dewayne's World , has been in the process of upgrading into a much larger space. (Where my idea came from)
I've had the Star Wars comic fabric for a while now, and i've been itching to make something out of it.
I looked at a few patterns I've been wanting to do, but I finally decided on New Look 6299 View D.
I picked View D because I wanted to do something with a mid-sleeve so I can wear it all year round. I also like the skater dress style it resembles.
It will be a great dress to wear around a Comic Convention, when i'm not wanting to cosplay. Also, if they have a grand-opening of the new store, this would be ideal!

It took me about an hour and a half to cut the pattern out , and then cut the fabric.
I had to re-read the pattern a few times to figure out how to lay the paper pattern on the fabric to cut. I had to fold it two different ways, by the time I was done.
( The pattern has been turned inside out , due to being pinned)

Attaching the pieces together is my favorite, you really see it come together.
This I definitely was proud of. I installed the zipper correctly the first try.
I learned from the previous rogue one premiere dress , it's better to install the zipper when you are putting the back pieces together.
I folded the seam 5/8 inches ironed that, then pinned the zipper in it's place, and sewed it up!

Attaching the back to the front from the shoulders.

Everything has been attached , except for the sleeves.
The finished product!!
I am very happy overall with how it turned out. It's a great fit , it's comfortable to wear, and the sleeves are just right !
