Research And Inspiration

If you couldn't tell by my posts, I LOVE the costumes in Outlander. Check out the Claire Fraser Bat Suit that I created from the show. I really love all the looks she wears in 18th Century Scotland. I really enjoy this look because it's all muted colors plus you've got the crocheted cowl and arm warmers. I used the Mccall's Pattern m7735. I did have to modify the stay with the help of Daniel because it was just tiny. We actually used foam to hold it's shaping.

Fabric Choices & Progress Pictures

For the fabric, I went with a brown cotton fabric for the skirt. A muted orange soft tweed and then for the stay that goes in the front I picked green linen.

Final Project

Completed Cosplay

I purchased the crocheted cowl and the arm warmers to complete the look. However, I am slowly learning how to make them myself.

DH Knifeworks forged a leaf ring as well!
