Chayla asked me to help her make a Golden Metal Feather Bodice for an upcoming art photoshoot she was doing.

  1. cut out the feathers, three different sizes.

2. Next was to add the jewels by hot gluing them.

3. Placing the feathers on the bodice.

4. Once everything was where it needed to be, we used metallic gold spray paint and painted it.

Beginning Stages & Materials Used

We ended up using canvas material and pleating the ribbed part on top, also using bias tape to line that. the helmet was EVA foam. For the earpiece, we used some headphone mesh.

Painting

Daniel used an airbrush to do the little details and weathering on the helmet.

You're a jittery little thing, aren't you?

Beginning Stages & Build

I've had this pattern in my stash for a while now and knew it would be used for a Star Wars poncho, either the Leia Endor or Luke on Tatooine. Simplicity 7173 is the pattern I used, I used a poly-cotton material, so it was a little thin, but it'll be perfect for summer. It was actually only one pattern piece cut on the fold, then I added the hood to it. So material usage was 2 1/2 yards.

We used Dark Green, Regular Green, Lime green, and Brown spray paint to create the camouflage effect.
